Cosecha Lawrence and several other local organizations are calling on immigrants and those who
support their rights to participate in a nationwide Day Without Immigrants – immigrants are
encouraged to stay home from work and not make any purchases on May 1 as a way of showing the
public how much the economy of this country depends on immigrants.
Whether you are an immigrant or a descendant of immigrants, these two events are an opportunity to
show that members of the Jewish community stand for tolerance and civil rights.
