Holiday Gifts for Children in Need
This year we are once again providing holiday gifts to children in need through Operation Elf. Founded by our very own Sarah Blumenstock & Kris Girrell, Operation Elf is designed to bring hope, joy, and the spirit of the holidays to children in at-risk situations across Massachusetts and greater New England. Operation Elf partners with many local referring community agencies, including the Nashua Children’s Home, Jewish Family and Children’s Services, and Children’s Services of Roxbury among others that review each child’s situation prior to including them in our program.
The gifts provided are the only gifts this child will receive this holiday season and the suggested budget is $40-$60 for each child sponsored. Participation is easy and there are 3 ways to help – whatever works for you
1. Sponsor a Child – You Shop Sign up to sponsor a child at https://www.operationelf.org/sponsor/ Bring your unwrapped gift to the home of Operation ELF organizer Sarah Blumenstock Girrell, 1 Meadowbrook Drive, Andover, or Robin Rose, 80 French Farm Rd, North Andover, MA by December 9th
2. Sponsor a Child – We Shop Let us know how many children you would like to sponsor & we’ll take care of the rest (by November 25th so we’ll have time to shop)
3. Donate Dollars or a gift card Drop off or mail dollars or a gift card to CBI or Robin Rose, 80 French Farm Rd, North Andover by December 9th Please Contact Janet at Janet@bethisraelmv.org – 978-474-0540 or Robin Rose at rrose26016@gmail.com – 978-771-1669 with a commitment to help sponsor a child! Yom Kippur (and Sukkot) Food Drive
The response to our Yom Kippur Food Drive was wonderful – thank you to everyone who contributed! The food will be distributed to individuals and families in need in our communities through the Merrimack Valley YMCA.
Donations to HIAS to support the people of Ukraine
Thank you to everyone who has made a donation to HIAS as part of our fundraiser to support people in Ukraine who have been affected by the war. We have raised $406 toward our $750 goal, so we are more than halfway there! To participate, visit the HIAS website (HIAS.org) to make a gift online and let Susannah know that you have done so.
Thank you for joining us in Tikkun Olam!
